It’s almost the end of the year! What are you thankful for?

It’s been a bit since I wrote a post and let me tell you, there is a very good set of reasons. A lot of them have to do with my awesome family! We’ve grown on each other more and more and it’s becoming such an amazing daily life, I’m not exactly sure how I survived without it before! Erica and the kids are doing great! They’ve lived with me going on five months now and have settled in perfectly! We have our routines down to a science at this point (as far as getting up early and getting to school somewhat on time) and have recently been enjoying family hang out nights where we go to cool places in town or just hang out at home and watch movies, make dinner, and just have general fun!

Work has gone great! I feel I have started to get into more of the ins and outs of the network as well as the culture of the NOC. It’s honestly a welcoming experience to become part of so many new things in one year. I have become basically a whole new person in just under six months! A whole new change of scenery as far as my job is concerned and my life is a totally new experience, imagine that!?

Of course, a lot of the awesome changes can be attributed to my lovely feyonce (you know… fiancée, but like Beyoncé… come on..) Erica. She has helped with all the awesome changes in my life. We have gotten to go to New York a few times, visit Roanoke to meet/see her family, and of course spend tons of time doing other cool things in town! She also has helped me start to wake up earlier than I ever have which in turn helps me help her with the kiddos morning stuff before school. It’s really cool being a dad and practicing for our little one(s) in the future! It’s going to be sooner then anyone could imagine as well!

But what can one say when Christmas is right around the corner? Are you ready? Have you got everything for your loved ones if that’s what your family does? I usually don’t have to buy a bunch for anyone, but this year I got to get in the festive spirit and aid in getting the kiddos an awesome Christmas experience! Truly a fun time in my opinion. I’ve noticed that I’ve talked a lot about my new family in this post and honestly, that’s what I’m thankful for this Christmas/Year. Without them, I really don’t know where I would be without them!
